Dante's Paradise

Translated by Rev. H. F. Cary

The third, and final, part of Dante’s Divine Comedy features Dante’s arrival in Heaven, and his journey through its nine spheres: the Moon, Mercury, Venus, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Fixed Stars, and the Primum Mobile. Having left Virgil behind in Purgatory, Dante now continues his travels with Beatrice. Together, they traverse the celestial spheres until they reach the Empyrean, where God dwells. After witnessing the true majesty of God in all his glory, Dante journeys back to Earth to write The Divine Comedy.
